In general, pharmaceutical companies tend to focus on the stability, safety & efficacy of their drug products & the discovery of new chemical entities. Consequently many do not have the specialist methods or sophisticated analytical equipment required for the development of analytical methods dedicated to rubbers & plastics.

Smithers Rapra has extensive laboratory services on site & are equipped with state-of-the-art analytical equipment, & most importantly a team of consultants that have the experience to interpret the data & report back in the required detail based on their findings.

Instrumental techniques used in these methods include Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) & Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (LC-MS).
