All plastics product applications in contact with food, including packaging, must be carried out in accordance with governing legislation including national & international regulations such as the UK Statutory Instruments implementing European Directive 2002/72/EC including its amendments to date or the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.

Smithers Rapra has UKAS accreditation for the migration testing of food contact materials to CEN methods & in house procedures (Accreditation Number 0067). Smithers Rapra participates in the FAPAS food analysis proficiency-testing scheme.
